Innovative technology
Technology has already transformed the way we interact, the way we see, and the way we comprehend. For it to be used constructively, it is important that there is a dialogue between our cultural and scientific understanding.
We have the structure and outlook to make this happen. In the arts, humanities and digital technology, as well as in our special collections, we encourage dialogue and crossdisciplinary
working.
This is clear in many areas of our work, from the agritech of the Essex Plant Innovation Centre (EPIC) to the immersive technology of Kent’s Docking Station development, which hosted an interdisciplinary Eastern Arc workshop in 2024.
At Sussex, the innovative use of technology is explored by all of their CoEs, and is central to three of them: Sussex Digital Humanities Lab, Sussex Artificial Intelligence, and the Sussex Centre for Consciousness Science.
