Investing in People, Places and Creativity in Northfleet
The Northfleet Place Partnership brought together Ebbsfleet Development Corporation, Gravesham Borough Council, and Creative Estuary to deliver a joint programme of work to further develop culture and the creative industries, SME growth, and youth engagement as drivers of social and economic regeneration in Northfleet North.
The partnership is investing in local people, spaces, and communities to help create a vibrant and inclusive creative landscape, offering high-quality opportunities for residents.
The partnership has supported Northfleet’s existing creative community including individuals, businesses and community groups, and helped creatives at all stages to develop their ideas and ambitions. Alongside this, the partnership has progressed the regeneration of the Coach House for youth work, creative and community use, and whilst working directly with local people through grants and activities.
This session will look at what the Northfleet Place Partnership set out to achieve, how it worked and the impact it has had on the local area.
Taking part in the session are three people who led and were actively involved in the project:
-
Lorraine Cox, Director of Creative Estuary. Lorraine has a background in cultural strategy and management, including leading Cultural Services at London Borough of Enfield, as Head of Cultural Strategy at Thamesmead for Peabody Housing, working in policy and planning for Arts Council England, and several roles curating and delivering creative programmes including major festivals, film commissions and public art.
-
Jo Cowan, Cultural Development Manager, Ebbsfleet Development Corporation. Jo has previously worked for Arts Council England as a Relationship Manager, Epping Forest District Council as Arts, Culture and Heritage Manager, and as the Director of Quay Arts.
