Eastern Arc webinar: Mental health research funding in the UK
26 January 2021
On Tuesday 16 Feb the Eastern Arc’s Health Systems, Social Care and Wellbeing theme will be hosting an online seminar that will look at mental health research funding in the UK.
It’s widely recognised that ‘mental health research is underfunded relative to the burden of disease’ (Woelbert, Kirtley, Balmer, Dix 2019). According to the MQ Funding Landscape Analysis 2014-17, around £125m of research funding is spent annually on mental health conditions.
This webinar is an opportunity to hear from MQ about its analysis, and to understand the priorities of two key funders of mental health research in the UK: the Medical Research Council (MRC) and the National Institutes of Health Research (NIHR).
The event is free and open to all. To register, go to the dedicated Eventbrite page, here. For any questions relating to the event, email p.ward@easternarc.ac.uk.
