Eastern Arc Equipment Sharing Platform goes live
17 September 2025
Following a successful pilot, our Equipment Sharing Platform (EPS) was launched today. It will enable academics, researchers and doctoral students to access equipment and facilities across the Consortium.
‘This is an exciting new initiative,’ said Phil Ward, the Director of Eastern Arc, ‘which exemplifies the collaborative and open nature of the Consortium. As well as giving colleagues the chance to use equipment and facilities in all of our member institutions, it enables them to make links with researchers and academics who host them, to learn, share and develop links with them.
‘The ESP is the result of many months of discussion, and we believe we have the right framework in place for staff at our universities. It’s intended to be light touch and unbureaucratic, facilitating rather than obstructing potential collaborations. Of course, we will monitor the Platform and make sure that it works for everyone, and will review it at a 6 and 12 month point.
‘I would encourage everyone to find out about the Platform on our dedicated site, look at what’s available, and consider applying to use it. I look forward to hearing about the collaborations that are sparked by this, and the ground-breaking research that will result.’
Full details of the Platform are available here.
