EARC Mentoring Scheme 2022/23 now open
29 September 2022
The Eastern Arc mentoring scheme is now open for the 2022/23 academic year, and both mentors and mentees are invited to apply.
Mentoring between different institutions benefits both mentors and mentees. For mentees, it’s a chance to get confidential support outside institutional structures, providing a fresh perspective on many issuess. For mentors, there’s a chance to gain insight into a different institution and expand your networks, as well as ‘giving back’ to the community and providing leadership and support.
Over 120 academics from across Eastern Arc have taken part in the scheme over the last two years. For some, the experience was significant. ‘I am not exaggerating when I say this experience has been life changing,’ wrote one mentee. ‘It made me realise I do have a place in academia and that I am allowed to take up space, and find meaningful ways to work, I don’t just have to be grateful for whatever scraps my employers throw my way.’
How to apply for the scheme
The scheme is now open, and the deadline for applications is Monday 31 October 2022. To apply, complete this form (Word) and send it to Phil Ward (p.ward@easternarc.ac.uk).
