Registration for EARC Conference 2021 now open

25 March 2021

Registration is now open for our Conference 2021. Taking place between 10-14 May 2021, the conference is divided into five 2-hour on-line sessions based around our thematic priorities, and will explore the landscape following the tumultuous events of 2020.

A programme is available online here, and can be viewed and downloaded as a pdf here. You can sign up for any number of daily sessions. A listing for the breakout sessions will be available closer to the conference.

Areas of focus

We will look at how agriculture may change following our departure from the EU, the challenges we face in researching alt-right and other radical groups, whether the new way of managing health will impact research funding in the UK, and how cultural organisations have survived the challenges of lockdown.

We’ll also hear from the British Academy about how the events of the last 12 months have affected its work, and at how Eastern Arc itself has evolved in that period.

Confirmed Speakers

Confirmed speakers include Vanessa Cuthill (Director of Research at the BA), Prof David Croisdale-Appleby (Chair of the Royal College of Physicians), Archie Ruggles-Brise of the Spains Hall Estate, Prof Alan Finlayson (Professor of Politics and Social Theory, UEA), Mark Richards (Metal Culture, Peterborough), Moya Stirrup (Turner Contemporary) and Ghislaine Wood (Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts).

Registration

The event is free and open to all, whether you are at the Eastern Arc universities or beyond. The consortium is based around collaboration, discussion and consensus, and we encourage wider engagement within our region, nationally and internationally.

You can sign up for any number of sessions over the course of the week. Details of the breakout sessions will be available shortly before the conference.
