Supporting our technicians: a secondment opportunity at Kent

Eastern Arc has been supporting the development of a technicians’ network across the consortium to enable them to share best practice, to ask questions of those working in the other universities, to develop training, and to offer a strong, united voice that can advocate the value and importance of their roles.

Based on an initiative at Essex, Kent is now advertising for a Technical Manager (Technician Commitment) on a secondment basis initially until 31 July 2022.

The role holder would work within the University to lead on implementing the Technician Commitment (which all three universities have signed up to), but would also work closely with colleagues at UEA and Essex to identify opportunities for exchange, shadowing, mentoring and wider training and development.
