New Reciprocal Training Programme launched

15 April 2026

This month we are launching our new Reciprocal Training Programme, which is intended both to open up existing training at each university, but also offer additional and collaborative training across the Arc.

This is a ‘soft launch’, and details of what’s on offer will be added as it develops. For April and May, the following are available:

  • Wed 15 April, 14:00-15:30: Careers outside of academia: expanding your horizons*
  • Mon 20 April, 14:00-15:00: The future of R&I funding in the UK
  • Wed 6 May, 13:00-14:00: How to secure ERC funding
  • Fri 8 May, 10:00-11:30: Stepping up: becoming a principal investigator*
  • Thurs 14 May, 12:00-13:00: Copyright for publishing and teaching
  • Tues 19 May, 10:30-12:00: Mentoring kick-off event (by invitation)

Go to the website to find out more and to register for the events. The site is currently being developed, and search functionality will be added to it shortly. If the registration link is not yet live for the event you’re interested in, contact me to be included.

In addition, Brighton and Sussex Medical School is setting up action learning sets for academic clinical fellows, and have kindly invited colleagues across EARC to join them. They will be via Teams, so it should be possible for those at the other EARC universities to take part. Please be aware that this is for academic clinical fellows only, not academics or ECRs. If you are interested in setting up and running such ALSs for colleagues in other roles, do contact us and we would be happy to explore the possibilities and support you in it.
